Commissioners approve MOA with emergency-response firm for pump trucks, field hospitals

The Commissioners Court unanimously approved a memorandum of agreement with a private emergency-response firm to provide surge assets during disasters, including logistics, staffing for incident command positions, pump trucks and a mobile field hospital.

County commissioners questioned the company representative about response time, equipment and costs. The company representative described capabilities: “We have the largest cache of mobile medical field hospital with negative air capability,” and said the firm can provide pumps, mass sheltering and mental-health clinicians but that response timing depends on the scale of concurrent requests and asset availability. Commissioners emphasized that activation would come through the county judge’s office as the emergency management director and requested clarity on cost and deployment thresholds before mobilization. The court approved the MOA after a motion and second.

Commissioners asked whether the company removes debris; the representative said debris removal is not a core service and would require partner engagement. Commissioners requested follow-up details about response timelines and any cost formulas before future activations.
