County hires Orb/CDG for courthouse assessment and approves Annex asbestos remediation

Traverse County authorized Orb Management to contract with Collaborative Design Group to perform a design and construction assessment of the courthouse complex, including structural, roofing and energy‑use reviews. Orb and Collaborative Design representatives described the assessment steps and timetable; the board authorized contracting to proceed.

Separately, after receiving a Limited Indoor Air Quality and Mold Investigation report and a Remediation Protocol from Nova Consulting Group, Inc., the board approved asbestos abatement work in the 1974 Annex Building basement by Assessco Environmental Services, Inc., for $6,360 and engaged ServiceMaster to complete ongoing cleanup work. The board discussed attic bat exclusion and deferred some decisions pending the full courthouse assessment report.
