Board elects officers, approves committee assignments, sets fees and schedules meetings for 2012

During January and subsequent organizational sessions in 2012, the board completed standard administrative actions. Commissioners elected Kevin Leininger as chairman and David Salberg as vice‑chair, approved the Gazette Publishing Company as the official county newspaper, and maintained committee appointments with a single change (Salberg replacing Deal on the Senior Citizens/Board of Aging committee). The board set the 2012 mileage reimbursement rate to match the IRS rate and authorized the Auditor/Treasurer to pay incidental claims and designate official depositories per county policy.

In June the board set a fee of $225 for requested county GPS data releases after an explanation of the county's data policy. The board also approved meeting schedules and minor procurement and surplus sales decisions throughout the period covered.
