School board votes unanimously to approve Resolution 25-13 to place bond on November ballot

The Sultan School District board met in a special session and unanimously approved Resolution 25 13 to place a bond measure on the November ballot. Chair opened the meeting at 5:30 p.m. and said the board had one action item: approval of Resolution 25 13; after a motion and second the board voted in favor and Chair announced, "Motion passes unanimously."

Doctor Granger briefed the board on the work that led to the revised bond language and on property-access issues connected to the proposed project. "We own the larger piece of property. There's a small piece of property that we need to be able to build the driveway into it, and DNR wants to make sure they have an easement on that piece to access the other forestry lands," Doctor Granger said. She told the board staff has been in touch with legal representatives and the architect, that materials will be shared with the community, and that signatures should be coordinated Monday so the district can file with the elections office before the Tuesday deadline.

The board did not record a name-by-name roll call in the transcript; Chair noted Isaac Huddy was absent. The motion to approve Resolution 25 13 was moved and seconded during the meeting and Chair declared the motion carried unanimously. The board indicated signatures will be gathered Monday and staff will file documents with the elections office by the stated deadline.
