County will apply for RHTP funding to beef up behavioral health clinical supervision

County health staff told commissioners they had been invited to apply for Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) workforce-development funding aimed at improving behavioral health clinical supervision in rural communities. According to the presentation, the county would seek up to $150,000 for a one-year award (through September 2027) to fund targeted supervision, stipends and supervisor training for clinicians in La Pine and Redmond.

"We're looking at right now, we have a a a budget of about 140, but we're hoping to seek approval today to, to re, apply for a grant up to 150,000," Shannon said. Staff warned that because the county's budget is already adopted the award could be treated as supplanting if it replaced existing local funding; commissioners asked staff to clarify timing and the annual nature of some RHTP award streams. The board moved, seconded and approved a motion to apply for and accept, if awarded, the RHTP funding.
