Council postpones Economic Development Board appointment pending 4b coordination

Council reviewed an application from Aaron Boyse to join the Gregory Economic Development Board (4b) but decided to postpone appointing him until the 4b meets to confirm vacancies and bylaws. Members debated whether the bylaws permit adding council members and whether the board or council should initiate openings; several members recommended coordinating with 4b before action.

One council member said the board currently has five members and noted the bylaws allow between five and seven directors; another suggested asking the 4b to open its process to applicants. The council made a motion to postpone the appointment until after the next 4b meeting so the two bodies can align on the membership and application process and voted in favor.

The council asked staff to ensure application forms are available and to coordinate timing so applications can be considered after the 4b provides clarity on available seats.
