Committee advances Resolution 78 to full Board after public testimony; votes recorded

After more than an hour of public testimony and committee discussion, the Health and Human Development Committee took two formal procedural steps on Resolution 78.

First, members voted to unbank the legislation (remove it from inactive status) and cosponsor it; the clerk recorded four "Aye" votes. Later, a motion to recommend the resolution for a "due pass" to the full Board was moved and seconded; the clerk again recorded four "Aye" votes and the committee advanced the resolution to the floor.

The committee's votes do not themselves change district policy but formally record the aldermen's view and authorize the resolution to be considered by the full Board of Aldermen. Committee members said they will follow up with the district and city departments to coordinate joint meetings and early-stage zoning conversations for any potentially vacant buildings.
