Council records $1,000 fine for Ruiz property out of compliance on Tucks Chapel Road

Town Attorney Edwin McClure reported to the council that the Ruiz property on Tucks Chapel Road is not in compliance with town zoning or building requirements. The minutes record that the council decided to fine the property owner $1,000 total — $500 per offense — and that Blue & Associates were notified by letter; the minutes state the fine must be paid and a building permit obtained before further approvals are issued.

Alderman Jay King said the zoning book is being cleaned up and described the meeting among the zoning official, the recorder-treasurer and the attorney regarding the Ruiz matter. The minutes also record that, before a lot split can be approved, applicants must demonstrate both new lots can perk.
