County IT and court staff outlined multi-courtroom AV upgrades, document-scanning replacements and portable security-camera trailers.
An IT representative described planned upgrades to multiple courtrooms and commissioner's court, saying quotes suggest roughly $99,000 per courtroom in some estimates and that the total for upgrading four courtrooms could approach several hundred thousand dollars. "We can probably like, a lot of these mics are, like, these Shure mics here that still work pretty well," IT staff said, but the central head units and control systems require replacement to modernize presentation and recording capabilities.
Staff also described the utility of portable Verkada security-camera trailers for large events and incident command: "they are security camera trailers, portable trailers that can be hauled off to any site, and be able to hook into our current security camera system," an IT/staff speaker said. Committee members noted a Court Facility Fund with a current balance that could cover a portion of AV upgrades and asked staff to return with refined vendor quotes and a plan for staged upgrades that could be completed within the coming fiscal year.
