Residents press for park upgrades, goat‑head removal and safer walkways

Residents and Council members proposed upgrades to the town parks and public spaces, raising goat‑head removal, turf repair or replacement, additional shade at the pool, and finishing a paved path that connects upper and lower Huachuca City to provide safe access to the library and Activity Center.

"If we could revitalize our public spaces, including the park, the entire park, both upper and lower, where kids are playing...including a way of maintaining that, like including a watering system to maintain any kind of landscaping," Councilmember Geovona Thompson said. Resident Steven Sherwood said a pre‑emergent treatment is on order and suggested soliciting donations of seed or materials while the Town pursues larger funding.
