Fire Marshal reports March�April inspections, investigations and storm response

Fire Marshal Raymond Walker provided a summary of March and April activities at the Bolton Fire Commission meeting on April 24, 2017. He cited specific inspections in March at 168 Bolton Center Road (kitchen fire protection), 124 Boston Turnpike (annual inspection) and 201 Boston Turnpike (gas services). Walker also reported investigations: Deputy Fire Marshal Rupert investigated a brush fire at 344 West Street; Walker and Deputy Fire Marshal Rupert followed up on an electrical problem at 14 Carter Street; Walker investigated a chimney fire at 18 Green Hills Road.

Walker told commissioners that the office had been involved in post-storm recovery work to ensure occupant egress routes and fire lanes were functional after storm conditions. The minutes record regular inspections continuing into April, including gas-service reviews at 222 Boston Turnpike and finalizing a certificate of occupancy for 201 Boston Turnpike. No fines, enforcement actions, or permit denials were recorded in the minutes.
