Commission highlights ShakeOut drills and neighborhood readiness steps

Commissioner Lynn Glenn summarized Blue Lake's participation in the Great American ShakeOut and described neighborhood-level drills that include buddy checks and assembly points. She noted revised guidance for people with limited mobility, wheelchairs or assistive devices and urged residents to practice the "drop, cover, and hold on" action and rehearse assembly procedures with family and neighbor groups.

Glenn said neighborhood pods used the ShakeOut to practice communications and that next year's drill will add simulated complicating factors (injuries, fires) to practice staged responses and identify who in neighborhoods has first-aid training or resources.
