Community storm advisory posted; sandbag training set Friday at 4 p.m. at Taylor Way courtyard

Parks & Recreation staff announced a community storm advisory posted to the city website and social media and invited residents to a community sandbag-training session this Friday at 4 p.m. at the courtyard on Taylor Way. Staff said the event will explain how to fill, stack and secure sandbags and that sand and bags are available at the courtyard; if courtyard access is closed, staff noted sand at the horse arena could be used for emergency filling.

Staff emphasized sand availability at the courtyard and volunteer support for sandbagging at known low spots in the community. The announcement was framed as a timely public-safety resource ahead of forecasted storms.
