Blue Lake Bicycle Coalition says it will advance bike-park ad hoc work and fundraising

Kevin Fisher, speaking for the Blue Lake Bicycle Coalition, told council the organization is serious about moving forward with an ad hoc committee to advance a bike park.

Fisher thanked council for signing a memorandum of understanding with a regional mountain-bike association and said the coalition intends to form an ad hoc committee, set meetings and continue fundraising to support the project. He asked the council and parks-and-recreation staff about next steps and expressed a desire to collaborate on engineering and permitting steps in the spring.

Council acknowledged the comment and the presentation later included a recommendation to create a special-use fund to track donations, engineering plans and maintenance costs for the bike park so those dollars and volunteer hours would be auditable and portable for future grant applications.
