Prinsburg council approves $3,800 change order as water-tower work nears completion

Prinsburg — The Prinsburg City Council on Aug. 12 authorized a $3,800 change order for final work on the city’s water tower as contractors complete coating cure and testing. Josh Johnson of engineering firm Bollig told the council that "Change Order #2 ($3,800) involves sandblasting, painting the pit under the tower, and venting at the top," and that coating inspections were successful and additional grinding was done at no extra cost.

Mayor Mitch Swart moved to approve Change Order #2; the motion was seconded by Mike Bredeck and passed. Council also approved spending $1,200 to have the tower lettering redone. Johnson said the pressure tank had been activated, the interior curing remains, and the tank will be filled and disconnected from the pressure tank after testing is complete.
