Old Schoolhouse Common selected for benefit‑cost analysis to support FEMA grant applications

Consultants identified a fill area by the Old Schoolhouse Common driveway as a high‑priority intervention to keep floodwater away from the building. The Selectboard directed a benefit‑cost analysis for the Old Schoolhouse Common/School Street location to determine whether the project would meet FEMA cost‑effectiveness requirements.

The minutes note one option under consideration is adding a box culvert on School Street that would require acquiring the Sehgal property and permission from the Village because the Village owns land across the road. The board asked for concept designs this fall so the town is prepared to apply for hazard mitigation funding when a grant round opens.
