Mid-South Youth Camp seeks sewer extension; city approves surveying and engineering

John McCaskill, a board member for Mid-South Youth Camp, told the board the camp needs approximately 700 feet of sewer extension to install showers and bathrooms to meet growing needs. He estimated the project cost at about $135,000 and asked the city to consider depreciating expenses to allow fundraising. Mayor Terry F. Bell reminded the board of a long-term policy not to extend sewer to non-city property and asked whether the camp would consider annexation; McCaskill said the camp is open to annexation.

The board voted to begin surveying and engineering work to identify routes, easements and costs and to report back to the board and the camp before proceeding with construction.
