Commission hears plan to reuse historic Redbridge trusses if SHPO approves

Miss Miranda described the Redbridge project as undergoing historic-preservation review and said the county's intent is to reuse the existing bridge trusses in the new bridge design rather than dismantle them for scrap. She described a short delay after the U.S. Forest Service briefly claimed ownership, but said the agency later indicated the county retains ownership and the project resumed.

Miss Miranda told commissioners a memorandum of agreement related to the preservation approach will be ready for the commission to sign at a subsequent meeting; she said the county will present design details and next steps then. "Our intent is to reuse those bridge trusses in the new bridge design," she said, adding the county will follow State Historic Preservation Office guidance.
