Officials: joining county could lower ISO rating and homeowner premiums

Resident Joe Dessenberger told the council his insurer said moving from a class 4 to a class 2 would save him about $200 a year — roughly matching the example tax increase for a $250,000 home under one municipal bolstering scenario — creating a partial wash for some homeowners depending on coverage and property details.
