Chandra Fox, director of Spokane County emergency management, said county staff are moving part of the sheltering capacity to the convention center to provide larger capacity and surge locations if needed. She said the health-care coalition is coordinating medical support for evacuees with specific medical needs and thanked partners assisting with shelter operations.
Fox confirmed that the county received a Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) earlier this afternoon for the Old Trails Fire; she said other fires will be submitted as individual requests for assistance. She added that an Incident Management Team (IMT) will arrive tomorrow morning to transition to IMT management of the overall situation and that the county EOC anticipates operating around the clock through the night.
