York County Council meets in special session on Silfab Solar litigation; no public action taken

The York County Council held a special called meeting July 30 to receive legal advice regarding the Silfab Solar litigation, including a circuit court order issued July 21 by Judge McKinnon in case number 2024 CP4602641. The council went into executive session to receive counsel and, on returning, announced that no action was taken publicly.

Chair told attendees that "shortly before our meeting convened here tonight, we learned that the judge has agreed to hear that motion on August 26." The chair also stated that "we understand no manufacturing will be on the site prior to August 26 because the order is not final and is subject to change," and that county counsel will consider next steps after a final order. A committee member who moved the executive-session motion told the council it would "continue to fight for the public on this issue." The motions to enter executive session and to adjourn were approved by voice vote.
