Council approves land exchange to site restroom at Sage Lakes Golf Course

Following a public hearing, the council approved a proposed exchange of city-owned land to secure a location for a restroom at Sage Lakes Golf Course. Municipal Services staff said the exchange would swap 0.229 acres of city property for 0.050 acres of developer-owned land, with a valuation set at $2.50 per square foot subject to a final survey and an equalizing cash payment if needed; the developer will pay half of the $3,500 appraisal cost.

Staff noted prior work to identify restroom locations and operational constraints (limited utilities) and said the appraisal report is available in the council packet. Council approved the exchange and authorized the mayor and city clerk to execute the necessary documents.

Why it matters: the exchange addresses a long-standing operational need at the golf course and formalizes terms, appraisal responsibility and notice obligations under state code.
