County seeks $259,365 in DOJ TAD funds for diversion positions and services

Lisa Moltoff told the council that the county has submitted its 2027 Treatment Alternatives and Diversion (TAD) grant application to the Department of Justice and requested $259,365 total, with a state share of $194,524 and a St. Croix County cash match of $64,841.

"So the total grant request for 2027 and beyond is $259,365," Moltoff said, describing proposed positions for a diversion program case management specialist and a diversion program data-entry specialist, benefits for both positions, one mental-health and substance-use recovery conference attendance, operating costs and approximately $55,000 earmarked for consultants and contractual assessments. She said the request is lower than prior years because the county is changing how it uses some resources following the planned end of the adult treatment court.

Moltoff said the county has not yet received notice whether the application was accepted; she expected word by late August or early September. No formal action was taken at the meeting; staff will update the council when the state responds.
