During the public-comment portion of the June 16 meeting, Nick Gunderson reported that library circulation is up and summer movies are going well; he also said Phill Tubbs resigned from the library board and asked that loose wires behind the library be secured before children play near them.
Resident Kathy Peterson raised safety concerns about motorized skateboards and scooters on sidewalks, saying "they are going so fast and it is an accident waiting to happen." Police Chief Brandon Leschke acknowledged the issue and told the council that the chiefs in Waupaca County are discussing how to handle the scooters and that local enforcement has spoken with riders. Jim Tolfa reported a sink hole next to his property and requested help removing lake weeds; Holly Martin reported a pothole at Ann/Pine/Hanover Streets and noted the DNR fish report will be discussed at the Lake Group meeting on July 10.
