Court honors retiring staff, announces promotions and NACo award for BG 2050 work

Warren County Fiscal Court used part of its July 30 agenda to recognize long-serving county employees and recent awards. Judge Executive Doug Gorman read proclamations honoring Edward 'Ed' Moss and Ronnie Pearson and invited family and colleagues to celebrate their service.

Chris Allen delivered remarks praising Ronnie Pearson's decades of emergency-management leadership and said, "There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that because of him and his forward thinking and his vision, he has saved lives in Warren County." The court also recognized maintenance supervisor James Markham, who has more than 15 years of county service.

The court announced promotions previously approved: Battalion Chief Tim Buchanan to deputy fire chief and Deputy Director Kevin Bailey to Chief Deputy Director of Emergency Management. Sam Ford of INO Engineers presented a National Association of Counties award to the county for the BG 2050 planning initiative.

Members praised the retirees and congratulated the promoted staff; the court hosted a post-meeting reception for the retirees.
