County jail passes state inspection, administrator says

Patrick White, Marshall County jail administrator, briefed supervisors on the county's annual state jail inspection, which was completed in April but only recently shared with the board. White said Iowa's jail standards include roughly 25 standards and multiple subsections and reported that Marshall County met every required standard.

White said the state inspector was "very impressed" with recent improvements — in particular housing and booking-area changes — and thanked jail staff for their work meeting federal and state inspection requirements.
