Mercedes authorizes mayor to sign and submit WSIG application paperwork

The Mercedes City Commission on July 29 voted to authorize the mayor to execute and submit all documents required by the Texas Water Development Board for the city's WSIG application under House Bill 500, including any amendments or supplemental information.

Mayor Oscar Montoya read the authorization language into the record, saying the mayor is empowered "to execute and submit all resolutions, affidavits, certifications, applicants application forms, and other documents required by the State Water Development Board in connection with the city's application for financial assistance under the water system infrastructure grama, program authorized by House Bill 500, including any amendments, supplemental information, and additional documentation necessary to complete and administer the application." The commission approved item 7(b) on a motion by Commissioner Joe Martinez and a second by Commissioner Garcia.
