Council awards construction contract for Durocks Park boat ramp with $68,000 CPW grant

Town staff presented a recommended contract award for reconstruction of the Durocks Park boat ramp, describing the existing ramp as steep, eroded and unsafe at variable water levels. Staff said Roaring Fork Engineering completed design work in 2025 and that the town applied for and received a Colorado Parks & Wildlife 'Fishing Is Fun' grant in April for $68,000 to offset construction costs.

"In April, we were, notified of an award of $68,000 for the project," staff (Catherine) said. The total project cost was shown in the staff packet at roughly $108,778, which includes materials testing and contingency; the grant leaves a local share of just over $40,000 to meet the required 25% match. Council moved to adopt the resolution and voted unanimously to award the construction contract to Nixco; staff noted in‑stream work windows and permitting requirements to minimize impacts on fish spawning.
