Dan Klein, chair of the Government Operations Committee, reported that the committee discussed a potential local drone law but did not reach consensus on whether to draft or pursue legislation. He said the committee took no action on the drone issue at that meeting and indicated it may return for further deliberation.
Klein also said the committee held an executive session to review an assessment of the Biggs Parcel and decided not to make that information public because revealing it could negatively affect a prospective real‑estate transaction. He said the Indian Creek Neighborhood Association had been given a date (January 15) to submit any proposals related to the parcel before it could be placed on the open market.
The committee also heard a presentation from Tammy Baker, a community outreach worker with Family and Children Services who is operating a downtown outreach post; Klein told colleagues the presentation met expectations and that the position appeared to be functioning as intended.
