TCAT names Scott Vanderpool general manager; highlights app, station improvements

Frank Proto and members of the TCAT search committee introduced Scott Vanderpool as TCAT's new general manager. Proto said the committee had conducted a two‑year search and recommended Vanderpool for the position.

Vanderpool, speaking to the Legislature, described his transit background and early actions as general manager. "If you're not familiar, [the app] actually tracks our buses," he said, explaining the mobile app allows riders to see buses in real time and sign up to receive dispatcher texts about detours or delays. He also said TCAT will install a large monitor at Green Street Station to show bus status and is addressing recruitment and morale within the organization, adding there are plans to add some electric buses to the fleet.
