The Phippsburg Select Board agreed to assemble a small hiring committee to interview applicants for the town’s vacant code enforcement officer position.
Board members said they had contacted several potential committee members and were waiting for one member who is currently traveling to return before scheduling interviews. “I’ve sent an email to Mike Young. I’m waiting to hear back from Lee, and then Ellis said he was available,” one member said during the meeting, noting weekday availability and evenings after 5 p.m. as constraints. The board agreed a committee of about five people would keep the process moving if one or two members were absent.
The board directed a member to contact the absent official on return and begin scheduling interviews. No formal vote or appointment list was finalized at the meeting; the board will reconvene on scheduling once the missing member is available.
