Town staff reported a surprise inspection by a state electrical inspector at the transfer station that uncovered one tight electrical disconnect near the compactor; the electrician has been contacted to remedy the location.
"He only found one spot where our disconnect for our new setup is in a tight area between the dumpster and the wall," a staff member said, adding that the inspector called the electrician to move the disconnect. Staff said the visit otherwise "seemed like a smooth visit."
Separately, the transfer station sent its first box of four-foot fluorescent bulbs for free recycling through a Lamp Manufacturers Association program; FedEx picked up the box as scheduled and delivered a replacement box the same week. Staff called the pilot a modest cost-saving measure and said they would continue to sign up for similar programs.
