Interns say the program showed them 'how things actually work' in the Guam Legislature

An intern who spoke during the recognition ceremony described the experience as "very eye opening on what happens in the legislature," saying the placement helped them learn how budgeting works and "how to draft a bill." The intern added that the cohort gave a presentation on bills they had drafted themselves during the program.

Speakers and supervisors framed that work as civic education designed to demystify government procedures and encourage future civic participation. Vice Speaker Tony Atta and Senator Vince Borja both emphasized the value of learning legislative process early and encouraged interns to stay involved in civic activities as they continue their schooling.
