Police, water and street reports note inspections, service calls and planned repairs

At its Aug. 7 meeting the Jefferson City Council reviewed routine department reports from police, streets and utilities. Police Chief Dustin Sharkey's report, placed on file, listed activity including three traffic-stop warnings, animal calls, multiple agency assists, a welfare check, follow-ups and a motorist assist; the report also noted a call for power lines down on Wilson Street.

The Water/Wastewater Department reported the water plant will be inspected on Aug. 9, 2023, and the water tower will be inspected on Aug. 10, 2023. The Street Department said repairs to Esther Street are estimated to start mid to late September; a property owner at 116 North 2nd Street requested that portion of 2nd Street be blacktopped when they replace a driveway. No formal actions to appropriate funds for the repairs were recorded in the minutes.
