Jefferson police report: warnings, assists and National Night Out scheduled

The police department report reviewed at the Aug. 4 meeting listed recent activity including five traffic verbal warnings and three traffic warnings, animal calls, agency assists (including a pursuit and a DUI arrest), a hit-and-run, motorist assists, welfare checks and a theft from a storage unit reported within the last nine months. The minutes note that a copy of the chief's report is kept on file at City Hall.

The department also announced National Night Out, scheduled for Aug. 12, 2025. No formal council action was recorded on the report; members reviewed and accepted the report for the record.
