Council declares donated park equipment surplus; receives $2,020 park donation

Councilmembers reviewed park maintenance and a set of donated play equipment that was described as 'in rough shape' and unsuitable for the city park. A motion by M. Stokely, seconded by J. Lokhorst, declared the equipment surplus and the motion carried. Council also recorded routine park maintenance activity including mowing, cleanup of fallen branches and power-washing park bathrooms.

The minutes record a $2,020 donation from the Sue Lulf family to the city park in thanks for the city’s help during the family’s annual memorial walk/run. Councilmember M. Nelkie raised the issue of the lack of an exterior water faucet (removed after repeated breakage) and proposed an in-wall inset hydrant (V2+ Slate Gray House Hydrant Aquor Water Systems) that requires a special tool to operate.
