Riley County staff will prepare a Home in the Heartland grant application for round two after the commission voted July 30 to pursue funding for 15 household moves. Amanda Webb, the county planning director, outlined deadlines and cost estimates and said Make My Move would assist with application and program delivery if the county proceeds.
Webb told the board, "We have until August 12 to submit an application if that's what we choose to do," and presented per-mover cost estimates and a recommended 15-mover scenario. Staff presented an in-kind match estimate of $858 per mover (52 weeks of staff time) for a total $12,870 in-kind match and a remaining cash match of $26,730 to meet the 20% requirement for 15 movers. Commissioners moved and seconded a motion directing staff to prepare the application and update the Make My Move contract; the motion carried with all voting "Aye."
