Duncan Unified board adopts slate of fiscal and procurement policies in second reading

The Duncan Unified District Governing Board approved a comprehensive set of fiscal-management, budgeting, purchasing and reporting policies at its Aug. 11 meeting after a second reading.

Superintendent Eldon Merrell told the board the policies "make sure we follow the financial laws." The policies approved on second reading included DA (Fiscal Management Goals), DB/DB-R (Annual Budget), DBF (Budget Hearings/Adoption Process), DBJ (Budget Transfers), and a suite of purchasing and financial reporting policies (DJ, DJE, DJG and related codes). Member Wade Wagley moved to approve the package; Member Bruce Lunt seconded. Motion No.15 (25-26) carried with the members present voting Yes and Member Hughes recorded absent.
