Select Board approves spring cleanup and seasonal mowing contract for school property

The Stamford Select Board voted to approve a contractor’s quote for spring cleanup and ongoing lawn mowing on town property that includes the elementary school playground area. The quote presented on the record covered a one-time cleanup (described in the meeting as $800) to remove clumps of sod, seed bare areas, repair sections of fence and clean the ditch plus a per-mowing charge (quoted as $250 per cutting).

Board members discussed the scope of work, timing around school hours and watering frequency before moving and seconding the motion to accept the quote. As one member said, “That covers all of that,” when asked whether the price included the whole property. The board then called the vote and approved the contract to proceed with cleanup and seasonal mowing.
