Council approves $250,000 in FY27 arts grants from Saint George Arts Commission

Peyton Lee, the city's community arts manager, told the council the Arts Commission received 31 applications requesting $404,425 and recommended awarding $250,000 across 30 organizations for FY27. "This year, the arts commission received 31 applications totaling 404,000 $404,425, sorry, in requests...the arts commission is recommending allocations totaling $250,000 across 30 organizations," Lee said, and staff recommended approval.

Council asked for a clarification on one line item (Lieto Voices, a singing program) before moving to a vote. Councilmember Steve Kemp moved to approve the distribution; the motion was seconded and carried unanimously. The allocations will be disbursed under the city's arts-grant program and administered by the community arts office.
