Akron police propose two Flock cameras at about $3,500 a year; council postpones decision

Police Chief Danielson briefed the council on a proposal to install two Flock cameras in the area and estimated the recurring cost at about $3,500 per year. He said he would seek county assistance to offset the cost. The council did not take a final vote; members indicated substantive opposition and the discussion was deferred to Unfinished Business at the next meeting.

Trustee T. Tait stated she was "absolutely a NO vote on the cameras" and Trustee J. Carr likewise declared opposition. The motion was not put to a full roll call at this meeting; the item will return for further discussion and formal action under Unfinished Business.
