Akron council approves up to $750 for park toilets and up to $400 for village hall panic bar; employee comp-time meeting set

In new business the council approved two facility purchases requested by Public Works. Trustee T. Tait moved and J. Carr seconded a motion authorizing S. Bills to purchase two new park toilets for up to $750. The motion passed unanimously. The council also approved a motion (T. Tait; second M. Strasz) to allow purchase of a new panic bar with passcode and key fob for the village-hall front door for up to $400.

Separately, council members noted the employee handbook lacks a comp-time policy and scheduled an employee meeting for Wednesday, July 29, 2026 to discuss whether comp time should be paid out, accumulated or replaced by overtime.
