MassMutual Center Upgrades Will Include Safety, Accessibility and New Jumbotron, Officials Say

Event speakers provided a list of planned facility upgrades tied to the state's $93,000,000 investment, emphasizing safety and accessibility elements in addition to fan amenities. "We're making critical safety and accessibility upgrades, modern fire alarms and sprinkler systems, improved ventilation, and more comfortable facilities for athletes, fans, and the communities," Governor Maura Healey said.

Officials also said the project will include clearer signage, renovated concession areas, upgraded sound and lighting and improved premium seating; the goal is to make the venue more competitive for conventions, concerts and sporting events. Local leaders and the MCCA framed the improvements as necessary to attract larger events and provide a better experience for visitors.
