David Lane told the group he had seen a $125,000 estimate to move the station generator and build a new pad and underground wiring. "We continue a a number of a $125,000 for moving generator," Lane said, describing site work and wiring as drivers of the figure.
The contractor and moderator noted the generator move and any required upsizing of electrical service will change site-work costs and should be included as a separate line item in the spreadsheet comparing Plans 1A, 1B and 1C. Participants agreed the spreadsheet will be updated with wiring and generator move costs plus any contingency once the architect and electrician provide exact requirements.
The board also asked that access and routing for new electrical feeds be shown on updated plans so that members can see how wiring, conduit and fuel or tank work would affect site layout and construction phasing.
