Avon board names Christopher Lowe Pine Tree assistant principal, effective Jan. 4, 2027

Christopher Lowe was approved by the Avon Community School Corp. Board of School Trustees to serve as assistant principal at Pine Tree Elementary, with an effective date of Jan. 4, 2027. Dr. Windham recommended Lowe after a committee review intended to ensure a smooth leadership transition when Principal Mrs. Moyers retires in January.

Dr. Windham described Lowe’s background: three years as an assistant principal in Decatur Township, experience coordinating robotics programs district-wide, prior work as an instructional coach and technology coordinator, and academic credentials including a bachelor’s degree in Japanese from Ball State and a master’s in school administration from Indiana Wesleyan. A trustee moved the appointment, the motion was seconded, and the board approved it 3–0.

Trustees welcomed Lowe and highlighted his robotics and show choir involvement and family connections to Avon schools. The board noted the hire is timed to the building leadership transition in January and recorded no amendments or opposing votes.
