Blake Ellis, comptroller for County Assessor Larry Stein, presented the assessor's annual valuation report to the excise board on July 29, summarizing valuations across real estate, personal property and public service accounts and the school-district breakdown pages. Ellis reported a 5.04% increase in total assessed valuation compared with last year and walked the board through the documents; the board voted to approve the 2026 assessed valuation report and signed the paperwork for state filing.
Ellis described the report structure (school district pages, vo-tech and city pages, and a final two-page county summary) and noted how TIFs and incentive areas are separated on the schedule. Ellis said, as a rough estimate, the change in levies could translate to roughly $65.7 million more in tax dollars once levies are set. The board completed signatures and directed the clerk to scan and forward the signed pages to the state's posting system.
