Wolcott veterans commission outlines fall fundraisers including comedy show and pail shakes

At the July 29 meeting, Anthony Marino told commissioners that the commission plans a fall comedy show as a fundraiser, with details to follow. Members discussed additional fundraising options including a pizza contest, a pumpkin patch and a pail shake (bucket collection) to be held Saturday, September 5, 2026, if grocery partners are available; Patriot's Day, Friday, September 11, 2026, was offered as a backup date.

Commissioners assigned outreach tasks: Larry Desmarais will contact Petro Pat's (Pat's Gas Station) and Pat's IGA about hosting a pail shake; Chairman Brett Muccino will contact Walsh's IGA. Kelly Mazza suggested the Town Green as an alternative location if stores cannot host the collection. The commission agreed to revisit plans and firm dates once vendors confirm availability.
