Commissioners asked staff to explain the Palm Beach County urban-county program during the pre-agenda meeting. Mr. Perry explained that since 2014 the city has participated through a local agreement that makes the city eligible for programs such as the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and other housing-improvement funds.
Mr. Perry said the county is not using the usual local agreement process this year; instead, the city needs to sign a letter confirming it wants to continue participation. He added that next year the county expects to resume bringing a local agreement back to participating municipalities. The commission acknowledged the explanation and had no substantive questions recorded in the segment.
No formal action was taken beyond staff explanation; staff will bring any required forms or letters to the upcoming commission meeting as needed.
