JRD reviews new county population estimates; Sunbury still largest prorated share

The Eastern Delaware County Joint Recreation District received updated community profile projections on July 30, with presenter Daryl saying Sunbury "is still at 51.1%" of prorated shares while Galena is "gonna go down to 8.3%" and Berkshire Township is rising "to 40.6%." He told the board the county's year-over-year growth figure is 12.2 percent and that the 2025 projection shows an increase compared with the prior estimate.

Board members discussed the implications for budget prorations and agreed the figures were informational at this stage. Daryl noted the board is using last year's projections for current budgeting but has incorporated the new actual for 2024 and the 2025 projection into the packet. No formal action was taken on the population figures during the meeting.
