Public commenter asks Ag Commission to back Clark Conservation District rate proposal

During general public comment, Jude Waite called into the meeting and urged the commission to consider issuing a statement to county council in favor of proposed rates and charges for the Clark Conservation District. Waite said the district's funding would support a baseline for agricultural and conservation programs, help reduce fragmentation and could expand programming ranging from urban gardens to farmer assistance and equipment grants.

"I would really love it if the advisory commission would issue a statement or a comment to the county council," Waite said, urging the commission to entertain the idea because she believes the commission's input carries weight with council. Commissioners agreed to coordinate and Zora Oppenheimer offered to present details to the commission and to bring information for the commission to review before council deadlines.
